Week 4 – July 9, 2024

Our first 9th grade week was a blast! The first couple hours the 9th graders are a little tentative, but by the “after chapel” activity they are all in!! The counselors, workstaff, and confirmands create new relationships that will continue into the fall with the abundance of service projects and events offered by Mount Olivet Church. We had a high school themed lunch where campers came dressed in their school colors. Even with a smaller camp, it was evident that Mount Olivet reaches out to the larger twin cities area. Camp gives these campers the opportunity to form meaningful bonds that are just a little stronger than their other friendships, because they are grounded in faith. That is the magic of Cathedral of the Pines Camp.

As you have heard me mention, Cathedral of the Pines Camp is celebrating it’s 75th anniversary. Each week we have a huge birthday bash to celebrate! Our first “birthday party” consisted of birthday hats, party beads, cupcakes, and noise makers. It was crazy! Even with a smaller camp, it was extremely noisy. (Needless to say, noise makers are on the fence for the upcoming celebrations.) We had a rousing round of Happy Birthday to COP, and everyone in the room was proud to be celebrating 75 years of camping at COP. Thank you for your love and support of this incredible ministry!
