There is something truly transcendent about 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade weeks. It’s also pure chaos. But every once in a while, in chapel or in the lodge praying after a meal, their voices come together in such breathtakingly beautiful earnestness. In those moments I see exactly what Jesus meant when he said, “Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.” These kids have such genuine wonder and delight as they explore camp, learn the songs, connect with their counselors and just go so hard. And tonight as I heard them singing together I could hear their emerging love for God and it was so inspiring. So to the parents who were brave enough to send their precious kids up to camp, thank you. To the generations who took care of this place and invested in this camp, thank you. Please know that these kids are catching the faith that will lay the groundwork for the next 75 years at COP!
