Growing Our Faith

Mount Olivet members who are entering their junior or senior years of high school, or just graduated are our volunteer counselors! This is the most important role at Cathedral of the Pines Camp. Each counselor is assigned to a group of campers to guide, direct, and love up for the week! We could not operate without the commitment of all these great volunteer students! Each cabin will have two counselors and six campers. At Cathedral of the Pines Camp our counselors encourage campers to develop lifelong friendships, deepen their faith, ask questions, learn life lessons, be themselves, and have fun in a beautiful setting. 

Requirements

To be eligible to counsel…

  • You must be a confirmed member of Mount Olivet Lutheran Church.
  • You must have completed the Fall 2025 Requirements.
  • You must complete the Winter/Spring 2026 Requirements.
    • You must attend at least one Counselor Credit Hi-League this Winter/Spring or volunteer counsel at another event listed below. The Counselor Credit Hi-Leagues and volunteer counseling opportunities for this Winter/Spring are as follows.
      • Hi League Sharegroups: Sunday, January 18, 7-8:30pm, Mpls Campus
      • Hi-League Sharegroups: Sunday, February 1, 7-8:30pm, Mpls Campus
      • Hi-League Sharegroups: Sunday, February 22, 7-8:30pm, Mpls Campus
      • Counsel at COP Event: Sunday, March 1, 11am-12:30pm, Mpls Campus – click here to sign up! 
      • Hi-League Sharegroups: Sunday, March 8, 7-8:30pm, Mpls Campus
      • Counsel at the COP Preview Day: Saturday, May 2, 10am-2pm, Mpls Campus- click here to sign up! 
    • You must have another 10-minute online meeting with Kristi. These meetings will take place over the next 4 months. There are many of you interested in counseling, so again this will take some time. Do not panic if the spots fill up quickly. Like in the Fall, Kristi will periodically send out a Sign-Up Genius so you can register for a meeting.
    • You must attend in-person training at Mount Olivet. These will be for one hour and will take place in February and March. An email will come out in early February with the dates, times, and sign up!
    • You must attend the COP Camp Training and Celebration on Sunday, April 26, from 7-8:15pm at the Mpls Campus.
